Leaking CYCLE-TAINER Solvent Delivery System Pressure Relief Valve (PRV)

Information

Question The PRV occasionally leaks gas.  What causes the valve to leak and how frequently does this occur?
Answer

The PRV is a safety mechanism designed to automatically vent if the pressure within the container exceeds the valve's set limits. An excess of pressure within the container causes this gas venting, which will continue to occur each time the pressure limit is exceeded.
To help prevent this from occurring, it is important to maintain proper operating pressures for the size and type of container and to maintain reasonable storage temperatures. For storage temperatures refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the solvent. Maintain the recommended operating pressures.
